SBB – May 2009 Newsletter #1

Greetings, Y’all!

Join us as we embark on the maiden voyage of the Silver Boomer Books monthly Newsletter.

As the “voice” to our readers and authors, I decided to craft a monthly post to keep everyone up to date and well-informed. We, at SBB, want to keep our authors, readers and fans in the know about upcoming publication dates, SBB events and signings, new calls for submissions, and the various morsels and tidbits of creativity and genius which pop up along the way.


The Silver Boomer Books crew would like to say how much we LOVE our authors! What an amazing group of clever, creative, genuine people. You have made this journey into publishing that much easier by your presence, your involvement and your patience. Thank you!


Our authors are at the very core of our success as an independent publishing house. Remember, sell, sell, sell. Market, market, market. Thank you to all of our authors who reference SBB in their blogs and on their author websites! The growing process is not always as fast, nor as painless, as we would like it to be, but each person YOU reach is one more leaf on our ever-growing tree! SBB Authors are a huge contribution to the overall success of our business.


We have several tentative signings coming up. As we know more about date and time, I will post them to this Newsletter site. So keep checking back. We also plan to have a booth at the West Texas Book & Music Festival again this year – so mark your calendars!


Slender Steps to Sanity Twelve-step Notes of Hope was released on May 1, 2009.
Written by an anonymous member of Overeaters Anonymous identified as OAStepper (from the name of her blog, OAStepper. Blogspot.com), this collection includes meditations, poems, scripture references, personal stories, and quotations from the Big Book, the affectionate title of Alcoholics Anonymous. Available on the EWP website, Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and also on Amazon's Kindle!


Eagle Wings Press – an imprint of Silver Boomer Books – will release Writing Toward the Light A Grief Journey by Laura Flett in May/June 2009 (Previously Published and released under AuthorHouse in February 2008)


This Path SBB’s third Anthology will be released this summer.


Poetry Floats by Jim Wilson will be released in August 2009


We currently have several calls for submissions posted:
An Anthology tentatively titled Grandma's Quilt/Grandpa's Porch
and various projects planned for Eagle Wings Press Please be sure to check out both links. There's something for every style of writing and we want to see your work!


The SBB Newsletter will be published each month (personal deadlines don’t work too well for me, so unless my business partners set a firm deadline of the 20th, I will post the finished product sometime between the 15th and 25th of each month.)
